The “Casa de Aliaga” is the oldest Colonial mansion in Lima. The house has been owned and lived in by the Aliaga family and their descendants since the Conquista. The Casa is absolutely beautiful, the balcony and inner patio are extraordinary and an imposing wooden staircase takes you to the graceful salons that are decorated with Colonial furniture. Due to its historic value this house was declared a Historical Monument and the owners have decided to share their heritage with visitors.

This attractive neighborhood was “the place to be” in the 19th century, home to famous Peruvian writers, artists and bohemian personalities which gave the district a unique character, and it still retains its laid-back charm today; worth strolling to enjoy views of the Pacific ocean and to reach the Bridge of Sighs (Puente de los Suspiros).
