Day 1: Cusco / PutinaPuncu

Pick up from your Hotel in Cusco , we board a private Transportation that will be taking us across the altiplano and through a 15,000 pass and down to the jungle ,until we arrive at our put-in on the edge of the Amazon basin.

Day 2: Tambopata River

As we leave the last traces of civilization, we enter pristine rain forest using the river as a highway, well float down camping on sandy beaches along the way where we will have a chance to encounter wild life.

Day 3: Exotic animals and Rafting

The river remains relatively calm and we will navigate class II and III rapids. We will begin to see a variety of different kinds of birds, a few mammals, such as anteaters and giant otters (a species that is in danger of extinction). In the afternoon we will arrive at our campsite to relax and enjoy a delicious dinner.

Day 4: Lush Vegetation and Rafting

Today the landscape begins to change little by little as the river narrows and the rapids increase in difficulty (class III and IV). We will continue seeing splendid native animals to the jungle and with a bit of luck we will see monkeys.

Day 5: Lush Vegetation and Rafting

Surrounded by lush vegetation , well run class III and IV rapids and there is a good chances of running into monkeys, capybaras, tapirs and giant river otters among other animals . Our journey will take us through to the macaw lick where we spend the night camping on the river shore.

Day 6: Macaw Lick TRC Tambopata Research Center

Today we will encounter a very calm section of the river, which will allow us to observe the flora and fauna with peacefulness.

We will end at the macaw lick where we will spend the night in a lodge Tambopata Research Center . explore the jungle . (B+L+D)

Day 7: Rio Tambopata / Puerto maldonado

At the crack of dawn we will see a rowdy crowd of macaws with their variegated brilliance spattering the clay riverbank. Later a dug-out motor canoe will meet us to take us to the frontier town of Puerto Maldonado , to spend the night in a hotel. Here our services will end. (B+L+D). farewell dinner.

Day 8: Puerto Maldonado - Cusco or Lima

Early morning transfer from the Hotel to Puerto Maldonado aiport flight Puerto maldonado to Cusco or Lima. (B)
