6 Days / 5 Nights
Lima – Arrival
Lima welcomes you with open arms. It is a city where the past meets the present, and colonial palaces, monasteries and convents coexist in remarkable harmony with modern buildings and ancient pre-Columbian pyramids.
Whether in the entrance hall of an old mansion or deep inside a striking catacomb, Lima, the City of Kings and Gastronomic Capital of the Americas, awaits to amaze you with its magic and captivate you with its flavors.
Upon arrival at the airport, a host will greet you and assist with your transfer to the hotel.
Lima – Colonial and Modern Lima City Tour – Cusco (B)
The Colonial Lima tour takes you around the Plaza de Armas, framed by its beautiful Cathedral and the Archbishop's, Government and Municipal palaces. Then visit the colonial masterpiece of the Convent of San Francisco and its famous catacombs. Continue through modern Lima and the districts of San Isidro and Miraflores for spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean and the cliffs of the Costa Verde.
Transfer from your hotel to the airport for a short, spectacular flight over the majestic Andes and their snow-capped peaks to Cusco, the legendary capital of the Inca Empire, one of the world's great civilizations and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Cusco, both Spanish and Inca, sacred and divine, welcomes you. Upon arrival, a host will greet you and assist with your transfer to the hotel.
Cusco – Cusco City Tour and Nearby Ruins (B)
Explore the former capital of the Inca Empire, an impressive blend of Inca and colonial architecture.
The tour visits the city's most important landmarks, including the Cathedral, the Plaza de Armas and Koricancha, the Temple of the Sun.
The tour also includes Kenko, Puca Pucara, Tambomachay and the Sacsayhuaman fortress, a striking example of Inca military architecture.
Pisac Market and Ollantaytambo Archaeological Site (B, L)
Travel through the fertile fields of the Sacred Valley of the Incas to the picturesque colonial town of Pisac, where the colorful local market is a major attraction. Artisans from nearby villages bring alpaca textiles and handcrafted goods. At the market, you will have the opportunity to bargain with local vendors for the products they offer.
Ollantaytambo Archaeological Site: The Incas built this fortress with a temple, terraces and an urban sector. It has two distinct areas: a religious and ceremonial zone and a residential zone. Its walls and towers also reflect its role as an important administrative and military center. Ollantaytambo is known as the 'Living Inca Town' because its residents preserve practices and customs dating back to Inca times.
Lunch is included. Return to Cusco in the afternoon.
Cusco – Machu Picchu – Cusco (B)
The excursion combines bus, train and bus travel. This impressive, monumental citadel is one of Peru's most important attractions.
Hidden by the mountains and tropical forest for 400 years, the citadel was brought to international attention in 1911 by American explorer Hiram Bingham.
Machu Picchu was a center of worship and astronomical observation, as well as the private retreat of the Inca Pachacutec. It is divided into two main areas, agricultural and urban, with temples, plazas and royal mausoleums built with remarkable precision.
