Lima – Arrival
Upon arrival at the airport, a host will greet you and assist with your transfer to the hotel and check-in.
Lima is a vibrant city where the past meets the present. Colonial palaces, monasteries and convents exist in remarkable harmony with modern buildings and impressive, ancient pre-Inca huacas. Discover them in the entrance hall of an old mansion or deep within a shadowy catacomb.
Lima, the City of Kings, awaits to amaze you with its magic and captivate you with its flavors.
Lima – Colonial and Modern Lima City Tour (B)
The Colonial Lima tour takes you on a dazzling walk around the Plaza de Armas. Framed by its beautiful Cathedral and the Archbishop's, Government and Municipal palaces, it will transport you to the past as soon as you step onto its cobblestones.
Next, visit a masterpiece of colonial architecture: the Convent of San Francisco and its famous catacombs.
Continue through modern Lima and the attractive districts of San Isidro and Miraflores, where you can photograph spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean and the cliffs of the Costa Verde.
Lima – Cusco with a city tour and nearby ruins (B)
Breakfast. Transfer to Cusco. Upon arrival at the airport, a host will greet you and assist with your transfer to the hotel and check-in.
In the afternoon, discover Cusco's remarkable landmarks, from the Cathedral and Plaza de Armas to the Convent of Santo Domingo, built over the famous Koricancha Temple, and the ruins of Kenko, Puca Pucara, Tambomachay and the Sacsayhuaman Fortress.
Once the center of Inca civilization, Cusco continues to captivate visitors and remain in their memories for years to come.
Cusco – Sacred Valley (B, L)
Breakfast. Travel through fertile countryside to the colonial town of Pisac. Its colorful market offers a wealth of local treasures, and you will have the chance to browse and buy a wide variety of Cusco crafts and jewelry.
After lunch, continue to Ollantaytambo, an ancient Inca fortress with numerous temples and terraces rising majestically above the valley.
Sacred Valley – Machu Picchu – Cusco (B)
Breakfast. Transfer to the train station to begin our journey to Machu Picchu, the lost city of the Incas. This impressive, monumental citadel is one of Cusco's most important tourist attractions.
Hidden by the mountains and tropical forest for 400 years, the citadel was brought to international attention in 1911 by American explorer Hiram Bingham.
Machu Picchu, both a center of worship and astronomical observation and the private retreat of the Inca Pachacutec, comprises two main areas: an agricultural sector and an urban sector featuring temples, plazas and royal mausoleums built with exquisite precision.
Return to Cusco by train in the afternoon.
