Lima – Arrival in the City of Kings
Arrive in Lima, the 'City of Kings', renowned for its Spanish colonial architecture, museums and exceptional cuisine.
Lima is internationally recognized as the 'Gastronomic Capital of the Americas'. Its cuisine is considered among the world's most diverse and refined, on a par with French cuisine.
Upon arrival, a host will greet you at the airport and assist with your transfer to the hotel and check-in.
Lima – Cusco (B)
After a short, spectacular flight over the snow-capped Andes, arrive in Cusco, former capital of the Inca Empire and one of the most important cities of the Viceroyalty of Peru. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Cusco is often called the 'Archaeological Capital of the Americas' for its many monuments. Upon arrival, a host will assist with your transfer and hotel check-in.
Cusco and nearby ruins tour: Explore the former Inca capital, an impressive blend of Inca and colonial architecture. Visit key landmarks such as the Cathedral, the Plaza de Armas and Koricancha, the Temple of the Sun.
The tour also includes Kenko, Puca Pucara, Tambomachay and the Sacsayhuaman fortress, a striking example of Inca military architecture.
Pisac Market and Ollantaytambo Archaeological Site (B, L)
Travel through the fertile fields of the Sacred Valley of the Incas to the picturesque colonial town of Pisac, where the colorful local market is a major attraction. Artisans from nearby villages bring alpaca textiles and handcrafted goods. At the market, you will have the opportunity to bargain with local vendors for the products they offer.
Ollantaytambo Archaeological Site: The Incas built this fortress with a temple, terraces and an urban sector. It has two distinct areas: a religious and ceremonial zone and a residential zone. Its walls and towers also reflect its role as an important administrative and military center. Ollantaytambo is known as the 'Living Inca Town' because its residents preserve practices and customs dating back to Inca times.
Lunch included. Return to Cusco in the afternoon.

Hidden by the mountains and tropical forest for 400 years, the citadel was brought to international attention in 1911 by American explorer Hiram Bingham.
Machu Picchu was a center of worship and astronomical observation, as well as the private retreat of the Inca Pachacutec. It is divided into two main areas, agricultural and urban, with temples, plazas and royal mausoleums built with remarkable precision.
